Vincen Price, age 73, of Harrogate, Tennessee passed away the morning of Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harrogate, TN. He had been struggling with kidney failure for the past seven years. Vince was born on September 13, 1949, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, the son of the late Elbert and Opal Price. He grew up in Middlesboro and was educated in the Bell County School system. He graduated in 1968. After High School, Vince worked as the manager of Jerry's restaurant in Middlesboro.
In May 1971, he married Molly Diane Bullard of Harrogate, Tennessee. They settled in on the Bullard farm in the Greer's Chapel community of Harrogate, TN. He also helped his father-in-law, Jess Bullard, tend to his herd of cattle. Soon Vince and Molly set about building their new home on the farm. In 1978, their son Joshua was born.
Vince left the restaurant business in 1973. He then worked for Middlesboro Water Service for fifteen years. In 1988 Vince went to work for Delta Natural Gas where he worked as a backhoe operator excavating trenches for natural gas pipelines throughout the region. He truly enjoyed his work and was able to safely dig gas line trenches on very difficult mountainous terrain. A master of the backhoe machine, Vince could pick up a dime off the ground without taking any dirt with it. He continued to work for Delta Gas until his retirement in 2011. After retirement, Vince started an excavation business and was often asked to assist in plumbing projects and other work using his new backhoe on various projects in the Middlesboro area.
A proud son of Appalachia, Vince loved both Kentucky and Tennessee but he was an avid Tennessee Vols fan for life. He and his family enjoyed camping in the Smokies and trips to Myrtle Beach, SC and various destinations in Florida. They also enjoyed spending time on Norris Lake with the pontoon. He was a skilled woodworker who enjoyed building his own house and the outbuildings as well as things for their home. Vince enjoyed personal time riding his Harley and driving his BMW convertible through the countryside.
Vince was a kind and gentle soul who was deeply devoted to his wife and family. Vince accepted the Lord and was baptized on June 20, 1971. He became a member of Greer's Chapel Baptist Church until he moved his letter to Pump Springs Church on May 8, 1985. He was very active in supporting the Youth and Bus Ministries. This year he and Molly celebrated 51 years of marriage. He cared for his parents-in-law and generously gave of his time to assist them in their later years. He was especially proud of Josh and Dria's family and dearly cherished his granddaughters Elizabeth and Hadley.
Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Opal Price, his brothers Paul and Jay, his father and mother-in-law, Jess and Edna Bullard.
He is survived by his loving wife Molly, his son Josh (Alexandria) and granddaughters Elizabeth and Hadley, his sisters Judy and Jackie, sister-in-law Sheila and nephew Drew Price and niece Shanna.
