She was born to parents James Orville Edmondson and Meda Louise Edmondson, September 18th, 1947 in Middlesboro, KY. She was also preceded in death by her brother James O. Edmondson II. Sheila graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, MI.
Sheila is survived by Daniel and Jennifer Dykes of Knoxville, TN, her grandchildren James A. Dykes, Ashlyn B. (Zachary) Janes, Daniel A. Dykes, Maddison E. Dykes, and Marissa C. Dykes, as well as her great grandchildren, Anna and Emma Janes. Sister-In-Law: Trilby Edmondson
She spent many years working for Tennessee Valley Authority, eventually retiring from the river forecasting department.
She was loved by many and was generous to those around her. She was fiercely devoted to her family, taking her parents in after they became elderly, and loved her pets, calling them fur babies.
She was always very active, usually found doing some sort of project on her aunt and uncles home next door, gardening in the spring and summer, or just shopping on a championship level.
She was always quick to volunteer her help to anyone who needed it, and often even if they were afraid to ask. Sheila was always quick to take family to hospital visits and doctors appointments when needed, and would frequently drive from Tazewell to Knoxville to watch her grandchildren when needed.
She was a wonderful gift giver, often asking for suggestions for what to get someone for a holiday or birthday, then upon getting a list of suggestions, she would show up with everything on the list instead of just one.
She will be greatly and sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
