Robert D. "Bobby" Powell, age 66, of Tazewell, Tennessee was born February 20, 1957 and went to be with the Lord of Monday July 17, 2023 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Bobby joined Grissom Island Baptist Church by experience in grace and baptism on July 30, 1967. Bobby graduated from Claiborne county High School and went on to attend East Tennessee State University. Bobby served as an Airman in the US Air Force. Bobby was a devoted Tennessee Volunteer Fan. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davison Motorcycle. Bobby dedicated most of his time caring for his Mother. Her happiness and well being were most important to him. He looked forward to visits from his great nieces Kylee and Ava. Bobby was preceded in death by his Father, Edgar Powell, Sr.; Brother, Edgar "Eddie" Powell, Jr, ; great Nephew Roman Ray Elliott and step-Father John K. Hipsher.
He is survived by his Mother Berneda J. Hipsher; Niece, Stephanie Powell both of Tazewell, TN; Nephew, Brandon Powell of Sneedville, TN and great Nieces, Kylee Powell and Ava Powell of Tazewell, TN, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service at 3:00 P.M. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service to follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
