Milford Snodgrass

Milford Snodgrass was born June 6, 1946 to the late Harvey and Pattie Snodgrass . Milford accepted Christ as his personal savior on April 24th 2011. Milford touched the lives of everyone he meet. He worked for Dr. Carroll Rose for twenty five years, and he was a member of the USDA Farm Service Agency. Milford was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the US Senate more than a year ago. Milford departed this life Saturday August 8th, 2011 at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He fought hard but never once gave up. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Harvey and Pattie Snodgrass of Tazewell , Tn. Brothers Dallas”Tex” Snodgrass , James Snodgrass and Bruce Snodgrass all of Tazewell also Bryant Snodgrass, Welzie Snodgrass,and Elijah Snodgrass all of Michigan. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Sylvia Snodgrass, son Todd Goins and granddaughter Iva Lynn, daughter Tahlena Snodgrass and grandchildren Ethan, Joshua and McKelia Snodgrass all of Tazewell, whom he raised and cherished. He leaves to mourn three sisters, Faye Garett of Tazewell Anna Lou(Wilburn) Kyle of Dayton, OH ,Carolyn Sue Snodgrass of Dayton, OH , sisters-in-laws , Marion Snodgrass of Detroit, MI, Shirley”Mick” Snodgrass, Jennifer Gions both of Tazewell, Shirley Snodgrass of Grand Rapids ,MI, Sandra Thompson of Knoxville, TN. Brother-in-law Jerry(Pearl) Goins of Oak Ridge, TN. Milford had a special love for his nieces and nephews Larry and Leah Snodgrass, Alisha and Alex Snodgrass , Richard Barnett and son Wesley and daughter Little Tracy, Jeff Snodgrass and wife Dot, Sherry Snodgrass , Lindsay Snodgrass, Michael Kyle, Kristy Garrett and son Jaylor and a host of others. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Paula Goins for her help and love and Milford’s close friends Geneva Lynch, Katherine Buis, Gordan Buis, Gene Hurst, Kess Eldridge, Ken Cinnamon. The family will receive friends Tuesday August 9, from 6-8pm at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in New Tazewell. Funeral service will be Wednesday August 10 at 11:00am in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel in New Tazewell burial in the Goins Cemetery . Pallbearers Greg Trent , Ken Cinnamon, Jimmy Johnson, Kess Eldridge, Jeff Young and Todd Goins . Honorary pallbearers Dr. Rose and staff, Dr. Klee and staff of the Bakers Cancer Treatment center of Harrogate,John Massengill, Gordon Buis and Gene Hurst.
