I worked with Matty over in Kuwait 13 years ago. I found out today that he had passed and wanted to share this picture. He was always such a bright light in everyone's eyes and the "Clown " of the Department. I will miss you my friend and the laughs we had together. Rest in Peace your tour is done!

I worked with Rowland in Kuwait, I was honored to call him a brother, and he was a true brother, always treated me the same although I was from another country. You will be missed my brother from another mother. Deepest condolences to familly from "Bosnian Mafia".

There’s nothing I can say but I’m going to miss my brother very much. It’s killing me I can’t make it to service. Matthew has also treated me like an equal. They say we looked alike except twice as big as me. My heart goes out to his family and the rest of his friends. This is a sad time that everyone’s heart is torn. He was to young and a great spirited human being. We first met when I joined the bike club and it wasn’t long after I left he left. He will always be my brother and in my heart. His memory will always be with me. Love you brother with all my heart. 
                     

I didn’t get to work with Mathew for but a short time at Ft Benning, but that was all it took to feel like I knew him for a lifetime. You were always  the life of a party and down for a good prank or joke. He will surely be missed by all his brother from the Fire Department, rest easy my brother and until we meet again go VOLS.

We are blessed to love each other!  I miss you so much, sugar! 

We all know how you enjoyed being silly!  You were right, my sweatshirt fit you. You just had to prove it!!!  

You had so much fun celebrating our New Year’s and new beginnings.

I worked with Matt at the FE Warren Fire Dept.  I was so saddened to hear of his passing.  He was a joy to work with and have as a friend !!  He has left us way too soon but the Lord was ready for him to come home.  Everyone left behind is suffering a huge loss.  Rest easy my friend, we have your 6 !!  May God bless you and your family during this difficult time.  

I am humbled to have served with him.  May God give you comfort 🙏.  Know that he was loved by many. May he Rest In Eternal Peace!  RIP Brother! ❤

I've been a friend of Rogers for a very long time, I made a trip to Tennessee earlier this year and met up with him for lunch. He brought Matthew with him and we got to meet him. Matthew had a great outlook on life and was a great story teller. My fiance, youngest son, and my neice went to lunch with us and they both thought he was cool. I had a bad accident back in 2016, but talking with Matthew about his difficulties in life helped me. We are already planning another trip and it breaks my heart that my friend lost his son and that I won't get to see him again. I am so sorry for everyone's loss, Matthew was an irreplaceable character and will be missed greatly.

I was very saddened to hear of Matt's passing.  He was with us at FE Warren for a few years in the military and was a joy to have on our team. Everyone loved Matt's sense of humor and what he brought to the team on a daily basis. My heart hurts for Matts Children and the entire family, god bless you all

If he loved you, then there was never any doubt. Matthew was one who would make you think before you would speak. He motivated me in life, in the gym, and to be my best at whatever I put my hand to. The time I had with him was not near enough, and I am gonna miss him in life for longer than I got to know him.  RIP my friend and I will see your face again and I am gonna run to get one of those hugs and hear you tell me how I should have not missed you and Shhhhh... ha ha ha I love you brother. I am glad to know your still in my corner cheering me on.  Love you always! 

It was truly an honor to meet the one man who made my sister extremely happy! We had so much fun this day! RIP Matt! I know you are with your mother now and all of the sickness is all out of your body!!!!

What a great time we had in Kentucky! This video makes me laugh every time I watch it!  He was hilarious and made me laugh constantly...as he did EVERYONE!

We took Roger and Stacy (I mean "Wilma" ) to The Comedy Barn September 17, 22 and had an absolute amazing time!   I have never laughed so hard!  

Never a dull moment around Lefefe. He always told you the truth even if it hurt. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. Love ya brother

One of the best friends I ever had. He was with me at my first fire at Fort Benning. Love him and will miss him. 

I have so many pictures of Matt having a good time.  Laughing, cracking jokes…He was a good to my kids and our family.  He always made sure you knew he was your friend.  His Friends were also his family.  We are gonna miss him…deeply.
