Mrs. Mable Oakes age 83 of New Tazewell, TN was born September 5, 1931 and went to be with her Lord on December 4, 2014 after a brief illness. She was a member of Duncan’s Chapel Baptist Church. Mable loved reading, tending her flowers and visiting with family and friends. She completed Cosmetology School and was a hair dresser for over 35 years. Mable married Charles Evan Oakes February 1949 and they had their wedding vows renewed for their 50th anniversary at Duncan’s Chapel Baptist Church. Mable was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Evan Oakes, her father Louis Calvin Poore and mother Lillian “Pressnell” Poore and brother William Arthur Poore.
She is survived by two Sons: Robert Dennis (Teresa) Oakes

Four Grandsons: Matthew Evan Oakes, Charles Cory Oakes, Robert Seth Oakes and Nathan Benton (Lucy) Oakes
Great Granddaughter: Aubrey Rebekah Oakes
Special Nephew: Billy Wayne (Debbie ) Poore
Sisters-in-law: Helen Oakes, Shirley (Gail) Keck and Margie Poore
Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 P.M. Saturday December 6, 2014 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Baldwin-Duncan Cemetery.
