Joey Vaughn Johnson Age 73 of New Tazewell TN, was born April 5, 1944 and passed away January 3, 2018. Joey was a thoughtful person and good neighbor. He was a farmer who helped anyone in need. He was happiest making sure others were taken care of. Joey was a simple man who was happy with whatever life gave him. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur (Cotton) Johnson and brother Tommy Ray Johnson. He is survived by his mother Retha Johnson. Sisters Carole Sue Johnson, Jackie Johnson and Annette (Buster) Thompson. Brothers Johnny (Opal) Johnson, Nick Johnson and Steve (Gloria) Johnson. Nieces Tomi Lynn (Jeff) Thrall, Erica (Shawn) Rowe, Amy (Stephen) Smith, Bailey (Les) Howell and Emily Thompson. Nephew Lucas (Brittany) Johnson. The family will hold a graveside service Thursday January 4th at 11 AM in the Hopper Cemetery. Rev. Harry Gent officiating.
