Darrell Glenn Bowles

Darrell Bowles, age 61, of Tazewell, TN was born November 24, 1961 and passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, with the love of his life by his side. He professed his faith in Christ on July 15, 1997 at Rutledge Pike Missionary Baptist Church, then later moved his letter to Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Nadine Bowles, infant sister Lisa Rose Bowles and father-in-law Hugh Estes.

He is survived by his wife of 8 years Sandy Bowles of Tazewell, TN., father Doyle Bowles of Blaine, TN, brother Scott Bowles and wife Tina of Bean station, TN, sons Darrell Jr of Knoxville, TN, and Ethan Bowles and wife Nichole Blaine, TN. Daughter Katilyn Atkins and husband Austin of Morristown, TN. Grandchildren Grayson and Karson Bowles, Jalen Harmon and Abbey Atkins, niece Ashton Myers and nephew Hunter Bowles. Mother-in-law Judy Estes, brother and sister -in-law Alan and Melissa Estes, brother-in-law Brad Estes and a host of other family members and friends.

Darrell's greatest love was being with his wife and family. His second love was dirt track racing and he spent many years years involved in supporting local race teams and teams in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Pallbearers: Austin Neely, Robert Rosenbalm, Dylan Robinson, Dovan Long, Coby Scott, Ben Rogers.

Honorary Pallbearers: Hunter Bowles, Randy Cameron, Alan Neely, Mark Estep.

The family would like to thank the oncology doctors, nurses and staff at Vanderbilt University Hospital, the oncology doctors and staff at Thompson Oncology Group and the Amedisys nurses for their caringness, compassion and friendship during this time of our lives.

The family will have a graveside service on Sunday November 26, 2023 at 3 PM in Irish Memorial Gardens. with Rev. John Hall officiating and Alan Neely reading the obituary. If anyone would like to go in procession please meet at Coffey Funeral Home at 2:45 PM.
