Betty was saved and baptized at a young age and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years.
Besides her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Howard Dean. Brothers Armour, Robert, Delbert, Arthur, and Burl McCurry. Sisters Ruby Reed, Della Collins, Irene Gilbert, Jewell Stoleff, Opal Witt, and Agnes Dean.
She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Steve) Keck and Alesia (Wayne) Ayers. Grandchildren Amy Montgomery, Jordan Keck and Michael Keck. Great grandchildren Isabella and Evan Kanefsky, Greyson Smith, and Andree Keck (Due in March). Brother Roy McCurry. Special friend and former employee Brenda Cain. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Betty was the owner and operator of Betty Dean's Beauty Shop in Ewing VA for 60 years. When she wasn't taking care of her shop Betty enjoyed singing, cooking, spending time with her family, and being outside where she loved to work in her flowers. Besides her family Betty loved God above all.
The family will receive friends Friday February 3, 2023 from 5 until 7 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel in Harrogate. A graveside service will be held Saturday February 4, 2023 at 11 AM in Jones Cemetery in Ewing, VA.
