Janet Wilson Donahue, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away on June 12, 2013. She was 95. Janet was born August 21, 1917 in New Rochelle, NY, daughter of Gertrude Bartlett and Rodney Melledge Wilson and great great great granddaughter of Josiah Bartlett, second signer of the Declaration of Independence.
She was a graduate of Beaver College (now Arcadia University). Janet worked as a Scientific Research Technician at the Rockefeller Foundation and worked at the Bronx Zoo for Biologist Dr. William Beebe as a Scientific Illustrator. She married Daniel J. Donahue in 1951. Janet was a girl scout leader for 15 years, a board member at the Mother’s Club and a member of the Woman’s Association of the Presbyterian Church of New Rochelle.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Donahue Inzinna and her husband Edward, granddaughter Katie Inzinna and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1980.
Funeral Services will be held Monday June 17, 2013 at 10:30am at the Presbyterian Church of New Rochelle. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
