She was born in Chicago to Herman and Emma (Zingleman) Nette and raised in Arlington Heights, IL, attending St Peter Lutheran Church and School and graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1939. Virginia worked as a secretary for many years, originally at the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad, where she met her husband Norman. They were married on August 22, 1948. She moved to Rocky River, OH with her family in 1965 and lived there until 1980 when they moved to New Port Richey.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Norman W Pohlman, two brothers, Ernie and Fred and three sisters, Margaret, Helene, and Irene, and her granddaughter Jennifer L Zimdahl. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Patricia & Larry Zimdahl and grandson Matthew Zimdahl, all of New Port Richey.
She was a wonderful cook and hostess and made sure no one left her table hungry. She definitely had a green thumb and could make anything grow and thrive. She was a lifelong Lutheran, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in New Port Richey since moving to Florida.
In memory of Virginia, you may wish to make donations to Gulfside Hospice or Faith Lutheran Church Music Department, 5443 Sunset Rd., New Port Richey, FL 34652.
