Thomas Matthew Seery

Thomas Matthew Seery (Tom) died peacefully in Hudson Florida on March 3, 2022 at the age of 79. Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline, his children Trudi Gilligan (Michael), Patricia Smith (John) and Thomas (Jessica), his five grandchildren Evelyn, Jack, James, Ciara and Cassidy, and his beloved dog, Daisy Mae. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, four older sisters Dorothy, Anna Mae, Kathleen and Helen and several beloved dogs.

Tom was born on April 25, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Gertrude Seery. After serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, Tom joined the New York Police Department where he served for over twenty-five years rising to the office of Lieutenant. Tom retired in 1993 and moved to Hudson Florida where he fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning his own business, Tom’s Cafe, and then fulfilled another lifelong dream by purchasing a second home in Limerick, Ireland. Tom and Pauline spent many wonderful years in Florida with their wide circle of friends where they enjoyed the best that retired life had to offer. Tom especially enjoyed golfing, bowling, taking cruise vacations and, of course, hitting the blackjack table where he would advise friend and stranger alike when to take a hit.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
