It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Spillmann, a dedicated veteran of the Vietnam War who passed away on February 28th, 2025, at the age of 79. Richard was born on June 25, 1945, in Passaic, New Jersey, and later served honorably in the Vietnam War, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Throughout his service, Richard witnessed the harsh realities of war but remained steadfast in his mission. Upon returning home, like many of his fellow veterans, he battled with the physical and emotional scars of warfare. As we mourn the loss of Richard, let us also celebrate a life lived with courage and dedication. His unwavering commitment to his country and fellow veterans will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace knowing his sacrifice and legacy live on in the hearts of many.
Richard was an accomplished craftsman and skilled motorcycle mechanic with a love of woodworking, boat building, sailing, and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lyuba Spillman , son, Scott Spillman, and granddaughter, Nicole Fraking (and family).
All services for Richard will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652. Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will occur from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by graveside military honors from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
