Paul John Strally Jr., 73 of New Port Richey, Florida and Waterloo, New York passed away peacefully Friday September 11, 2015 at Marliere Hospice Care Center New Port Richey, Florida with his partner, Amanda Brami and his daughter, Tammy Lyons by his side. He was born August 7, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Paul graduated from Waterloo Central High School in Waterloo, New York in 1962. He moved to Florida in 1979. He attended college at St. Petersburg College Clearwater, Florida where he received an Associate in Science in Computer Science in 1984. After he graduated, he worked as the general manager of the exchange on the U.S. Coast Guard Base St. Petersburg, Florida. He left his job with the Coast Guard in 1985 to return to the college as a computer programmer and later as a financial aid officer. He retired from the college in 2005. After retiring, he became a volunteer at Mease Countryside Hospital Safety Harbor, Florida as a Care Lift assistant and driver. Paul was an active member of the New Port Richey, Florida Elks Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved animals, especially cats. He enjoyed wine, fine food and taking pictures. He liked to make people laugh and always had a joke to tell. He is survived by his partner Amanda Brami and her daughter Isabella; two daughters, Debbie Davis (Keith) and Tammy Lyons (Aaron); one sister, Virginia Davie (Morgan); one nephew, David Debernardis; one niece, Brenda Debernardis; four grandchildren, Jennifer Novosel, Gabriel Lyons, Nathan Lyons, and Phoebe Lyons; one great grandson, Evan Pollino; one uncle, Mike Strally (Louise); one aunt, Joyce Campbell and many cousins in upstate New York, Florida, California and Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul John Strally Sr. and Lorine (Pat) Strally of Waterloo, New York. A Celebration of Life and interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterloo, New York will be held at a future date.
