Gloria H. Speich

Speich, Gloria Helen, 84, of New Port Richey, Florida, died Thursday July 30, 2015 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida. Born December 26, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to Herbert and Nellie Zinner, the youngest of 7 children. Gloria spent her younger years in Brooklyn where she also met the love of her life Albert Speich. Albert and Gloria married November 12, 1949 and moved to Merrick, New York where they raised their 3 children. Early in their marriage, Gloria was a homemaker but enjoyed volunteering with the Cerebral Palsy Association assisting children that were in need. In 1964 they relocated to North Merrick, New York where she stayed until November 1991 when she relocated to New Port Richey, Florida with her daughter and her daughter's family. Gloria was a Finance Manager with Seamans Furniture, Uniondale, New York from 1983 until her retirement in 1991. She loved living in Florida, but always enjoyed traveling with her sister Lorraine Curry as well as with her own children. Besides traveling, Gloria also enjoyed visiting the Casino capitals such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Nassau Bahamas and Biloxi, A few weeks before her death she requested to go to the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa Florida and made her daughter and granddaughter promise they would come again. Survivors include her daughter Cindy Skiver, whom she never lived apart from, and Cindy's partner Tony Criscuoli, New Port Richey, Florida; son Alan Speich and his wife Bonnie, Germantown, Maryland, 11 grandchildren; Justine Sasso and her fiancée Isaac Stuiso, Holiday, Florida; Frank Sasso, Tampa, Florida; Tony Sasso and his wife Anderson, Tampa, Florida; Ken Speich and his wife Christie, Jessup, Maryland ; Jessica Speich, Germantown, Maryland; Melanie Speich, Port Jefferson Station, New York; Alison Auld and her husband Jack, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York; Adam Giordano, Ridge, New York; Nick Giordano and his fiancée Jamie Briggs, Holtsville, New York; Matthew Giordano, Setauket, New York and Christopher Giordano, Coram, New York ;7 great grandchildren; Amelia Sasso, Tampa, Florida, Joshua and Rebecca Speich, Jessup, Maryland; Kaylee Auld, Lake Ronkonkoma, New York, Aaron Speich-Dixon, Port Jefferson Station, New York and Danielle and Anthony Giordano, Coram, New York. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1982 and her daughter Kathleen Giordano in 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 9th from 1 to 4 pm at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Florida 34652. In honor of Gloria the family requests that everyone wear comfortable bright color clothes. Burial will take place at a later date at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn, New York next to her beloved husband Al.
