Alpha LaDawn Holden of New Port Richey, passed away peacefully in her home on March 28, 2020 with her husband of almost 45 years at her side. She was 70 years old. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. "Donna" was born on June 12, 1949 at the Old Station Hospital, Fort Sill, Oklahoma to the late Menford McIntosh and her beloved mother, Eva McIntosh. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, LTC Carl Holden III, US Army Ret., a brother, Joe McIntosh, two nephews, three nieces, and numerous grand-nephews and nieces; cousins June Hileman, Bill McKee, Hazel Shriver, her sister-in-law, Patricia Gose; numerous other relatives and friends, especially her best friend, Holly Zinn, and Denise Flusche, Lynne Maples, Peggy Garfino, Susan Sargeant, Rudy Sanchez, and Joan Wilson.
Donna was a proud army wife. She met and married Carl at Fort Dix, NJ. Her career was as a Civil Servant for the Federal Government. She received many certificates of commendation for her service. She was especially proud of the commendation she received for her service at the Reception Station, Fort Dix, NJ during the Vietnam War. She received the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher for her charitable work while her husband was serving with the First Armored Division Artillery in West Germany. She proudly served as the Secretary for the Girl Scouts in the Nuremberg Neighborhood during this time. She loved painting, scrapbooking, reading, travelling around our country and Europe, cruising, and especially keeping in touch with family and friends.
Interment will be private at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida,.
