While living in Downers Grove, she was involved with Finn Ladies of Chicago, Finnish American Club of Chicago, and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader.
After retirement she and Dave moved to Holiday FL. There she was active in the Finnish American Club of New Port Richey, FL. She participated in the Scandinavian Club and their folk dancing group. She was an active bowler, loved to play at golf and was very active in the League of Woman Voters and AAUW. She loved to travel the world with her husband and visit relatives and friends in Finland. Most of all she enjoyed entertaining friends, family and grandchildren on Lake Shore Drive in Chassell, MI. The coffee pot was always on.
In addition to her other activities, Beatrice served on the Finnish Council of Finlandia University and the board of Salolampi Foundation (Finnish Language Camp), Bemidji, MN for over thirty years. Her Finnish heritage was very important to her. The family asks that donations be made in her name to the organizations listed.
