Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Taylor, age 60, of Caldwell, died Tuesday November 5, 2019 unexpectedly at home in Caldwell, ID. Funeral services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.
Kenny was born June 23, 1959, in Redding, CA. At a young age it became aware the Kenny was not developing the same social and learning skills as other toddlers and was diagnosed as Developmentally Disabled. At a time when children with disabilities were shunned by Doctors and pushed to be institutionalized, Kenny’s parents did not agree with that and kept him at home and treated him as any other member of the family. Kenny’s disability did not deter him from leading a full, happy and good life. Even though he was non-verbal he had his methods of communication that the family understood, and he was a wizard with puzzles and games.
Kenny loved his family, games, sports, and food – not necessarily in that order. He was a permanent fixture at family events, activities, and sporting events. Watching his sisters, nieces, and nephews play their sports was one of Uncle Kenny’s favorite things. Uncle Kenny was a fixture at their basketball, football, volleyball, baseball or softball games. Kenny’s family and their friends always made sure he was involved and he was a pro and giving out high-fives. Kenny enjoyed going on trips, his most favorite was going to the Oregon Coast and Highway 101. Universal Studios where he got to meet Spiderman and the Backstreet Boys concerts were also some his most cherished memories.
Kenny’s family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Witco, Inc, Caldwell and the drivers with Special Delivery that took him there each day. Kenny enjoyed being able to participate in the developmental activities and the chance to be able to different tasks every day.
