Jewel West

Jewel West, age 87, of New Plymouth passed away at a St Luke’s Meridian Hospital Saturday August 22, 2015. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 27, 2015 at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. Minister Bob Quick will officiate. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.

Jewel was born Sept. 18, 1927 in Oklahoma to Elmer and Annie Wallace. She met and married her husband Wilburn West on May 18, 1945. After her marriage the family moved to Casa Grande, Arizona. She was the mother of two boys, Robert and Dale. She lived her life camping, fishing, hunting, and working in her beautiful gardens. She and her family moved to New Plymouth, Idaho in 1973.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Christy and Matthew, seven great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Nonny” and daughter-in-law Gail West. Jewel is preceded in death by husband, Wilburn West and son, Robert West.
