Ellamae went to Huntington Beach Union High School in Huntington Beach, CA. and graduated in 1941.Ellamae enjoyed playing sports and in Jr, high was on the girl’s basketball team. In high school she did track and basketball.
Ellamae went on to earn her Hairdresser and Cosmetician license with the state of CA. in 1942-1943. She worked at a friend’s salon in Westminster, CA. for a while. Eventually she owned and operated her own salon in CA. for a few years.
After marrying, Roy Platz, in 1943, she kept her license active and worked out of her home doing family and friends hair.
Later in life and during her marriage to Roy E. Platz, Ellamae obtained her CA. Real Estate Sales license. Ellamae and Roy owned a general dept. store, real estate sales brokerages, and property management businesses in N. California.They were both very active in their communities.
Ellamae is survived by her children daughter, Judy Ceccarelli {Gary} of Yuma, AZ.; son, Roy E. Platz, Jr. of Stockton, CA., daughter-in-law, Barbara Platz of Stockton, CA. Grandchildren, Katie Abelong{Ted} of Stockton, CA.; Tim Platz (Megan) of Okinawa, Japan; and Matthew Platz of Stockton, CA. Great-grandchildren, Savannah Platz, Chloe Thompson, Teddy Abelong III, Jacob Abelong, Kayla Platz, Sienna Platz, and Josiah Platz{deceased}. Numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ellamae is preceded in death by her husband, Roy, parents, Everett and Bertha Hylton, and brother, Charles Hylton.
