Wilson Andrew Duplantis, Jr., devoted husband and father, passed away on Tuesday May 30, 2017 at the age of 77. Beloved husband to Carole Hoyle Duplantis. Survived and dearly missed by two children, Denise Coste (Bubba) and David Duplantis, three grandchildren, Kendall Coste, Nash Coste and Britny Batt (David), two great-grandchildren, Boden and Wyatt Batt and his beloved dog “Sonny”. Wilson was born on December 5, 1939 to parents Wilson Andrew Duplantis, Sr. (decd) and Glennie Boutte Duplantis (decd) with his sister Glennie Duplantis Weidert. He is also survived by his loving niece Lisa Christensen (Marcus) and nephew Keith Weidert, along with his two great-nieces, Madison and Maisie Christensen. Wilson spent his early years in Harahan and Old Jefferson and attended East Jefferson High School. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return he attended LSUNO, where he met his wife, Carole. Wilson had worked for many years as a salesman for Southern Flow in Belle Chasse, and in his later years he worked for Oreck. Spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandkids was his true joy in life. Wilson enjoyed meeting people and was a lifetime member of the Lions Club and was a member of the Porch Monkeys at Dot’s Diner on Jefferson Highway. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10AM at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana and visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the service.
