He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, June Williams Daigle – the love of his life. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Waldo, Leona, Carrie, Delma, Edward, Mabel, Valerie, Leonard and Lawrence and his wife’s siblings: A.O., Marie, Lloyd, Sydney, Roy, Allen, Marguerite and Audrey. Wilson was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, and is survived by his children: Barbara and Wilson Daigle, Jr., Cathy and Richard Kimball, Sr., and Nona and Toby Russo, Jr., his grandchildren: Nicole and Bill Guitterrez, Jessica and Cort Boltman, Bryan and Jennifer Daigle, Clare and Greg Allen, Gretchen and Richard Kimball, Jr., Courtney and Scott Jacobs, Autumn and Derek Vicknair, Travis and Melissa Kimball, and his great-grandchildren: Rachael, Erin, Zachary, Henry, Alexander, Kaitlynn, Harmony, Scott Jr., Hannah, Elijah, and Ezra.
Wilson was a native of Belle Rose, born on December 16, 1918. He grew up in Reserve, and lived in Metairie for more than sixty years. Wilson was a devout, practicing Catholic and parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena, a WWII Army veteran, and a lifetime member of IBEW local 130.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lakeside Hospice for the extraordinary care given to Wilson for the past two months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be offered at any Catholic Church.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, which will be held at St. Catherine of Siena, 105 Bonnabel Blvd. in Metairie. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – noon. Mass will begin at noon. The interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park.
