William Patrick “Pat” Kelleher, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, was born May 22, 1936, to William Perrin Kelleher and Grace Kelleher. He died peacefully on April 9, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mittie Clark Kelleher, and his two children, Mittie Kelleher Doyle, MD (Bill) and Albert Clark Kelleher (Elesha). He was the devoted grandfather of William Kirchhoff Kelleher, Albert Clark Kelleher Jr., Ellie Camryn Kelleher, Clark William Doyle, and Mittie Grace Doyle. He is also survived by his dear sister-in-law, Ruth Clark Herkes, and his niece, Elizabeth Herkes Hillard (Jack). He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, William Jeremiah Kelleher and Hattie Perrin Kelleher, his parents-in-law, Albert Biever Clark and Ruth Schultz Clark and his brother-in-law, Alfred J. Herkes. Pat graduated from Metairie Park Country Day School, attended Tulane University, and received a B.A. in Economics from Southeastern University where he played on the Varsity tennis team. He earned CPCU and ARM designations during his career as an insurance executive with Harry Kelleher & Co. He was devoted to his Catholic faith, attending mass every Sunday at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Pat was a lifelong tennis player and enjoyed riding his bike in Audubon Park, eating lunch at the Stratford Club, taking long walks with his beloved Jack Russell terriers, tending to his camellias, and playing gin rummy with friends and family. Pat was a member of the New Orleans Country Club and the School of Design, and a former senior member of the New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club. On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, a visitation will take place at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at Lake Lawn Metairie, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be sent to Holy Name of Jesus Church, 6220 LaSalle Place New Orleans, LA 70118, or to the charity of your choice.
