Virginia Culbreth McLean, passed away on April 8, 2013. She was 87 years. Born April 23, 1925, in Elizabeth City, N.C. to Cornelius Blackman Culbreth and Georgia Slough. Preceded in death by her brother George Culbreth, first husband Charles Jacob Holzer and second husband, Lee Davidson McLean. She is survived by her daughter Martha Virginia Holzer, grandchildren, Charles J. Holzer and Petra Kaitlyn Davis, and a great granddaughter Kayla Alexis Holzer. Brother Howard C. Culbreth (Florine), sister Helen Dietze, and sister-in-law Fern Culbreth. She was a member of numerous clubs: Clip Wings, DAR, Pass Christian Yacht Club and Golf Club, Metairie Country Club and Southern Yacht Club, PEO Chapter Q, Entre Nous Book Club, Garden Club, New Orleans Museum of Art, Priory of St. Bernard De Clairvaux (SMOTJ/Templers). Virginia lived life to the fullest, enjoying gardening, fishing, golfing, entertaining friends and family, traveling and cherished every moment. Virginia will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10am. The funeral service will begin at 11am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation the Heart Association.
