T. Argentina Agurcia, age 90, died peacefully at St. Joseph Home on May 23, 2017 surrounded by family and close friends. She was born in La Ceiba, Honduras on June 12, 1926. She worked for numerous years as a bookkeeper for Shushan Bros. and Pailet and Penedo as well as a CPA for Suyapa Inc. for which she was one of the founding members. Argentina was a member of Damas de La Virgen de Suyapa that was created by her late mother. She lived her final years in Harahan under the care of her devoted sister Alba and with special thanks to Noemi Contreras. She is the daughter of the late Medardo and Alba Agurcia and is preceded in death by her brothers Pilar, Medardo, Miguel and Mario and a sister Josefa Agurcia. Argentina is survived by her sister Alba Rodriguez (Dennis), immediate family – The Rodriguez, Shleismann, Vivas, Ruiz, and Vargas family. And a brother Victor as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nena as she was known to everyone who knew her will be greatly missed. “Nos vemos Hermanita” Services will be private for the family.
