Sylvia Taylor

Sylvia R. Taylor, age 95, of Metairie, Louisiana passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Sylvia was born in Metairie on November 9, 1926. She graduated from Metairie High School. Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hyrum (Jack) Taylor; daughter Jeanne Goodenough; sister Joyce Staples; brothers Roy Ramirez and George Ramirez, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Susan Taylor and Carolyn Taylor; grandchildren Kristie Fayette, Jason Cole, Josh Cole and Jack Goodenough; great-granddaughter Michelle Goodenough. Due to her husband’s service in the Army, Sylvia lived all over the world, but spent most of her life in Metairie. Sylvia was an active parishioner at St. Benilde Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and the Cher Aimes. She had for many years participated in outings with friends at her AARP group. Sylvia loved to read and nap. The family would like to thank everyone at Vital Link Homecare South and Hearts of Hands Hospice for their wonderful care. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division St, Metairie, Louisiana 70001on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11:00am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
