Sydney Johnson Besthoff, III, of New Orleans, Louisiana, died at his home on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was 94. Sydney is survived by his loving wife, Walda Barnett Besthoff; three daughters, Virginia Besthoff (Nancy Aronson), Valerie Besthoff, and Jane Steiner (Dr. Rodney); a sister, Jon Strauss; grandchildren, Andrew Marcus (Kelsie), Catherine Marcus, Stephen Marcus, Jason Steiner, Rachel Steiner, Kevin Steiner, Sydney Steiner, Adam Shapiro, and Beth Lavin (Austin); and great-grandchildren, Ava Marcus, Amelia Lavin, and Max Lavin.
The memorial service and interment in Metairie Cemetery will be private. There will be a celebration of his life in the spring.
