Susan Amelia “Peaches” Becnel, 61, of Gonzales, Louisiana and Katy, Texas died August 18, 2014 in Gonzales. She was born July 17, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Luther and Doris (Castaing) Bowers. She is survived by husband, Thomas G. Becnel; daughter, Stefanie Ellen Greig; and two sons, Jason Eric and Jake Thomas Becnel, and one sister Carol Courouleau. Susan is further survived by grandchildren, Aubrey and Brendan Becnel; Noah, Aiden and Cooper Greig, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Susan is preceded in death by her brothers, Luther and Byron Bowers; sister, Anne Bowers, nephew Stephen Becnel.
Susan attended University of New Orleans and later worked in the Oil and Gas business as a Regulatory Manager.
She was a devoted hospital volunteer.
Visitation will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home from 1pm-3pm on Saturday August 23, 2014 with a Funeral Mass to follow at the funeral home from 3pm-4pm.
