Steven (“Steve”) Earl Hedrick, age 71, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022. He was born on April 1, 1950, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Earl and Marguerite (Hackley) Hedrick.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Hackley Hedrick and his father, Earl Norman Hedrick. Steve is survived by his wife of 52 years - the love of his life - Cheryl (Hotard) Hedrick and his two sons, Earl Hedrick (Sara) and Scott Hedrick (Cherie). He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Nolan Hedrick and Reese Hedrick.
Steve was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force reserve, and was honorably discharged in 1975. He spent his career as a General Contractor, first in residential and then commercial construction. He was a nearly life-long parishioner of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, where he and Cheryl were married, and both of their boys attended grade school
He belonged to many social clubs in his life such as The Greater New Orleans Tarpon Club (GNOTC, former President), The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), and recently, the Deep South Cruisers.
Steve was an avid outdoor sportsman and serial hobbyist. He spent much of his life fishing, hunting, boating, or working on: cars, the camp, clocks, watches, guns, fishing poles, fishing lures, and antique furniture.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr. in Metairie, LA 70002, on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 12:30PM. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
