Mr. Morrison was born in Peoria IL on Aug 25, 1927, the son of the late Quinn and Vernita Morrison. He spent his formative years as a Chicago resident. Mr. Morrison was a veteran of the US Navy. Stan graduated from the University of Illinois and began an accounting career with Arthur Anderson in Detroit MI. He was subsequently hired by Central Gulf Lines in New Orleans where he was employed until his retirement. Stan was proud to call New Orleans his home for the majority of his life. He was active in the St. Charles Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, the New Orleans YMCA, and was a founding member and docent at the WWII Museum. He loved to sail and play tennis. He is survived by his nephews Kenneth Morrison (Julie) of Bolingbrook IL, Peter Morrison (Brenda) of St. Charles IL, and a niece, Ann Morrison Riggs (Randy) of Indianapolis IN. He has two great-nephews and three great-nieces.
Visitation will be held Saturday Oct 18 from 10-11 am at the St. Charles Presbyterian Church Chapel, 1545 State Street at Benjamin St., New Orleans LA. Services will follow in the Chapel at 11am. Interment of the ashes will be at Lake Lawn Cemetery in Metairie LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Charles Presbyterian Church or the YMCA of New Orleans, 2000 Philip St., New Orleans LA 70113. The family would also like to thank the staff of Ochsner Baptist Hospital for their loving and thorough care throughout his illness.
