Spencer Anthony Bienvenu, Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 29, 1950 and entered eternal rest on June 3, 2021, at the age of 70. Spencer was the beloved son of the late Spencer A. Bienvenu and late Lois Arnoult Bienvenu; brother of the late Adele Bienvenu Barnes (Kenneth), Kathie Bienvenu Sanborn, and Brian Joseph Bienvenu (Sara). Spencer will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Spencer graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School, and shortly after graduating, served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve for many years. He received an Associate in Science Degree in Engineering Graphics Technology from Delgado Community College. He enjoyed working as a librarian for Jefferson Parish as well as working as a draftsman. His skills as a draftsman were exceptional and he was also a talented cartoon, comic and sketch artist. Spencer was an avid reader who enjoyed music, especially from the 60s and 70s. Spencer was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Requiem Mass to bless Spencer’s body and commend him to God’s tender love and mercy on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
