Shirley Couget Babineaux

Shirley Couget Babineaux entered into her eternal rest at the age of 82, the morning of September 10, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Nolan Joseph Babineaux. Beloved mother of Brett Marcel Babineaux, Beth Babineaux Loewe (Michael), and Chantal Babineaux Hagood (Brad). Beloved grandmother of Patrick Hagood, Madison Loewe, Ethan Loewe, Parker Hagood, and Payton Hagood. Sister of Gloria Gagliano (Frank) and Cindy Schalck (the late Don). Beloved daughter of Marcel and Josephine Couget who have preceded her in death. Shirley was a longtime parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. Shirley had a vibrant, contagious spirit that lit up a room and was known for her kind and loving smile. She was loved by many and found great joy in the company of family and friends who will miss her dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain BLvd, New Orleans, LA. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
