Mrs. Crosby was born in Houston, TX to Stanley and Carmel Sanarens Roux. She spent most of her childhood in Morgan City, LA, and moved with her family to Metairie, LA in 1952. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in 1958 and married Robert Crosby in 1963. She worked in Civil Service, mainly as an Executive Assistant, for officers at Air Force bases in Anchorage, AK; Rantoul, IL; and Biloxi, MS. She was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, MS before moving back to the New Orleans area. At both her church in D’Iberville and at Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living Center in New Orleans, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. In D’Iberville, she was active in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a retreat captain for the Cenacle Retreat House. She had an outgoing, welcoming personality and was beloved throughout her life by family members and many, many others who had the joy of meeting her.
She is survived by her brothers Stanley, wife Pat; Louis, wife Pat; Thomas; and Robert, wife Janis; and by nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Saturday, February 3 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. Visitation will precede the funeral, beginning at 11:00 AM.
