She is survived by her sons, Glenn Brozman Adams (Nancy) and Frank Friedberg Adams (Michele) and stepchildren, Cynthia Fowler (Dr. Hobart Bosworth), Dr. Carol Fowler (Jeff Turek), Richard Fowler, and William Fowler (Cassandra); her grandchildren, Aline Adams Fusco (Scott), Laura Adams Miller (Ian), Benjamin Heausler Adams, Franklin Theodore Adams, and step grandchildren Camille Fowler, Charlotte Fowler, Colleen Fowler, Andrew Fowler (Julia), Lee Fowler, and a step great grandchild. She treasured her marriage to Dr. Fowler and considered his children to be her own.
Rosemarie was born on December 28, 1925 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, grew up in Kansas City, and made New Orleans home for the remainder of her life. She was a graduate of Westport High School and attended the University of Kansas City. After raising children, she returned to school and, with family encouragement, graduated from the University of New Orleans at age 53. For many years, she was a valued employee of the Zemurray Foundation
Rosemarie was an active and dedicated volunteer at several local museums including the New Orleans Museum of Art where she was honored with a volunteer of the year award. She was a long-time and enthusiastic supporter of the local chapter of the Council for International Visitors and spent countless hours coordinating business and social agendas for State Department sponsored international visitors to the City. Through the Friends of the Cabildo, she was a French Quarter tour guide. She loved hosting formal dinners and an annual party for the Thoth parade.
An avid traveler well into her 80s, Rosemarie frequently visited friends in New York and Washington DC as well as traveling to most of Europe and many other parts of the world. She led an active and fulfilling life while still making time to dote on her grandchildren and family members. She was particularly known for baking fanciful birthday cakes for her children when they were young and her grandchildren later.
The family would like to give special thanks to Denise Slater and Dwanna Knapper, who were a blessing to Rosemarie in her final years.
Visitation will be at Lake Lawn on June 23 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a burial service. Rosemarie requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Children’s Hospital or Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
