Rosalie Vaccaro Wood passed on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Elm Davis Wood. Loving mother of Elm Davis Wood, Jr. (Judith), Rosalie “Sissy” E. Wood, Carl Louis Wood (Paula), Paul T. Wood (Wesa), and the late Anne Wood Fazzio, Joan Wood Demarest, and Susan Wood Dunham. Grandmother of Joseph Fazzio, Leslie Bird, Marie “Mimi” Fornaris (Chip), William “Billy” McGuire (Beth), Brian McGuire (Molly), Jennifer Harper (David), Tricia Cooper (Chris), Elizabeth Wood, Peter Wood (Mary), Shawn Kohnke (Mignon), Grant Kohnke, Jon Wood (Katie), Steven Wood, Mathilde Wood, Philip Dunham, Scott Dunham (Hilary), and the late Mark Kohnke. Great grandmother of Kevin, Chad, and Blake Bird, Maddie, Jill, and Annie Fornaris, Becket and William McGuire, Katherine, Kevin, and John McGuire, Michael, Laura, Benjamin, and Elizabeth Harper, Garrett, Briggs, and Margaret Cooper, Blaise and Adelaide Wood, Bella and Emily Kohnke, Kade and Lily Kohnke, and Rosalie Wood. Sister of the late Robert Louis Vaccaro. Daughter of the late Steven, Jr. and Myrial Duncan Vaccaro. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Frank B. Fazzio. Rosalie was the owner of Lumber Products, Inc., a building materials distributor for the New Orleans area founded by her husband, Elm Wood. She was a member of the Metairie Woman’s Club and a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to your favorite charity.
