Ronald Michael Hebert passed away in Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born in New Orleans on August 29, 1940. After graduating Jesuit High School in 1958, he went on to study at Louisiana State University, ultimately earning his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1964. He went on to work at Chrysler Space Division, Freeport Mineral and Oil, and eventually Walk Haydel and Associates, where he rose to become the vice president of the company. He retired in 1997 to pursue other interests and hobbies.
He was a charter member of the WWII Museum, a member of Louisiana Engineering Society, and a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. In his free time, he participated in coin and stamp collecting. He was an avid LSU sports fan and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his alma mater. Ronald had an adventurous spirit and loved to spend time traveling the world with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mathilda Many Hebert and his son, Christian Blaine Hebert.
Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Brenda Mauras Hebert; daughter, Courtney Simmons (Morris); grandchildren, Taylor Blair Hickok (Carter) and Blaine Michael Simmons; great grandchildren, Hunt Carter Hickok and Makena Blair Hickok.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Tameka Page and Home Instead, as well as the nurses and staff at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
Ronald will be laid to rest privately in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery in New Orleans.
