Robert J. Lowe

Robert J. Lowe, age 92, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, journeyed to Heaven on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born in Covington, La, on January 16, 1931, to the late Robert and Marie Steiner Lowe. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He was an U. S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He enjoyed a long career in industrial sales with Erichson Company, Inc. and T. F. Hudgins, Inc. He retired to Tickfaw, La at age 74. Robert was a member at St. Mary Magdalen Church for 45 years, where he served as an usher. He was also an usher at Holy Ghost Church for 13 years. He was a devoted, loving husband and father. He loved spending time with his family while supplying them all with chocolates and gummy worms. He enjoyed working on home projects and there was nothing he could not fix. He was generous to others and gave to many charities.

Robert is preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 59 years Betty Greene Lowe; his sister, Anna Erichson; his brother, Mark Lowe and his grandchild, Thomas Tenhundfeld.

He leaves to cherish his lasting legacy to his son, Robert “Larry” Lowe (Jeanne); his daughters, Cathy Blanchard (Wayne), Robin Tenhundfeld (Jerry), Margaret Richards (Timothy), Mary Brown (Robert), Jeanne Dragon (Lance) and Sarah Smith (Shelby); seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express appreciation to Anna Pizzalato for being a devoted companion during his last years. The family would like to thank the employees of North Oaks, Landmark Nursing Center, and Life Source Hospice for their compassionate care of their father.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, La, on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 12pm.

Visitation will begin at 10:30am until service time. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
