On Saturday, February 26, 2011 Robert “Bob” Laurence Hebert was received into his eternal resting place. A native of New Orleans and a 54 year resident of Metairie, he died at the mere age of 60 years old, at his home, from cancer. Son of the late Andrew Hebert and Elaine Latour Hebert. Brother of the late Andrew Hebert. Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Marion Everhardt Hebert. Father to Shane and his wife, Wanda, and grandfather to Kortney and Dustin. He was also survived by loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends. A member of East Jefferson High School's class of 1969, he served in US Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton CA. As an avid hunter he spent many days training fellow “hunter-gatherers”, Shane and Kortney, afield in Summit, MS. As a skilled Machinist, he was promoted to Maintenance Team Leader at Shell Oil in Norco, LA where he also taught, encouraged and stood by his fellow workers. Recently confirmed into the Catholic faith, it was his desire to help those in need no matter their place in life. Robert Laurence Hebert was a man of integrity who spent his life giving and who does the same in his legacy.
