Richard “Richie” L. LeBlanc went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on May 6, 2021 at the age of 65. Richie was born on September 26, 1955 in Houston, Texas before moving to New Orleans with his family. He graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School in 1973. He then enjoyed a very successful career in the waterproofing industry for over 40 years. Richie eventually opened his own company and established RRL Painting & Waterproofing LLC. Richie was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to spend his days enjoying the outdoors.
Richie married his childhood sweetheart, Robyn Ridley, in 1977. Their biggest blessing was their one and only daughter, Brooke LeBlanc Genusa. Anyone who knew Richie knew his daughter was the light of his life. Brooke made his life complete when she gave him his granddaughter, Greer “Gigi”, who he loved wholeheartedly.
Richie is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 43 years, Robyn LeBlanc. He will forever be remembered by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Tony Genusa, and his only granddaughter, Gigi. Richie dearly loved his entire family. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Ferguson and husband Michael; brothers, Paul and Christopher LeBlanc, and sisters Susan Baehr and Vickie Mumphrey. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Janie Bice and husband Richard and brother-in-law, James R. Ridley Jr. and wife Connie. He greatly cherished his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Hazel and Milton LeBlanc.
A celebration of Richie’s life will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, with Memorial Mass immediately following.
