I was so sorry to read about Renee’s passing. I remember the many good times we had at the Latter and Blum parties.

The Trapp family fondly remembers our get-togethers with the Bravo family and we’re saddened to hear of the loss of Renee. Our particular condolences to Kim, Bryce and our granddaughter Avery.

Renee was such a loving and very caring person.

Renee, friend of my youth, with her generous heart, easy laugh and unwavering moral compass, I will miss laughing with her.  I will miss partying and seeing her nodding off, head propped on arm, at around 9:30. I will miss cooking with her and eating her barbecue shrimp. I will miss our pool dates and house parties and parades. Who will set me straight with her clear, direct manner? She shared her New Orleans with me and what can be better than that?

Renee and I met at a bridge game where we were both subbing.  We have been playing  since and became good friends. I will  miss her and continue to cook her recipes especially  her ice cream cake.
Renee was very caring and kind person.  I will all cherish our memories.

I met Renee in 2018 when I joined the bridge group that played every Tuesday at II Tony's. I felt an immediate connection to her and hoped we would become friends. To my great benefit, we did!  One of the many things I'll miss, are the phone conversations we shared. We were like 2 teenagers..laughing, talking, sharing stories from our lives.
Renee was one of the most selfless souls I've ever know.  So kind, gentle, caring, but never afraid to speak her mind. Always ready to support a friend or provide a teaching moment. Yes, Renee, I'll always remember 10 points are a lot!
One only has to visit the home she and Rob share to see Renee's creative and artistic side. As you climb the steps, you understand her love of gardening and connection to nature.  
Everytime, I step outside, I'll see the beautiful plumbago (from one of your cuttings) and I'll smile and think of you...planting gardens in the sky.

She was a wonderful cousin to be with. She was fun loving and always caring . I will always remember the parties we use to have at the house on Broadway with abuelita, and Mom. Those were the good old days. May the angels in heaven be with you forever!

Renee and I met at the University of Georgia when we were both in graduate school there, in the early 1980s.  We maintained a close friendship ever since, visiting back and forth not frequently, but regularly, and always staying in touch by letters and phone.  As others have noted, Renee had a great gift for friendship, a marvelous sense of humor and an enthusiastic love for playing bridge!  She showed magnificent courage in dealing with having to have a kidney transplant after a long time of being on dialysis, taking everything in stride with her always-practical, down-to-earth attitude.  To me, she set an example of wonderful strength and fortitude!  I admired how she consistently said what she thought and meant what she said, even when it was not easy.  She was a devoted daughter to her parents and sibling to her beloved brothers, sisters and extended family.  With enormous love and gratitude, she credited her gentle, kind, deeply loving and faithful husband Rob with saving her life during the terrible circumstances of Hurricane Katrina.  It is hard to imagine life here going on without hearing her take on politics and the events of the day.  The world will surely miss the light of her presence.

The world lost a wonderful person in Renee who was a bright spot.  I think everyone she ever met immediately liked her for her beautiful smile and demeanor.  I treasure the time I spent with her, especially out on sailboats and doing many things.

We three were inseparable in high school, and that friendship born at Ursuline back in 1971 has enriched our lives ever since. More than five decades of love, loyalty, and sisterhood. Renee was the anchor of our beloved threesome, the best of us: generous, patient, kind, and fun, not to mention wickedly funny.  And always there when you needed her.
Renee is the reason I believe in heaven--because there must be a special place for beautiful souls like hers. I like to think of her there now, surrounded by orchids, playing cards, smiling that thousand-watt smile, showing the rest of the angels the true meaning of graciousness. We will miss you.
