Regina Hollenburg Borey

Regina Hollenburg Borey passed away on June 25, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born in Houston, Texas on October 9, 1929. After obtaining her high school diploma, she became a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her sons. Regina was a lifelong Catholic and had been a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Melvin Charles Borey; parents, Joseph and Emma Hollenburg; and sister, Doris McClendon.

Regina is survived by her sons, Brian Paul Borey (Angie), Barry Charles Borey, Brett Michael Borey, Sr. (Robin), and Brad Maxwell Borey (Michele); grandchildren, Shawn Borey (Edwin), Brett Michael Borey, Jr. (Aurora), Emily Borey Spillyards (Jeff), Allyssa Borey (Mike), and Brandon Borey (Lauren); great grandchildren, Zachary Borey, Coral McKee, Zoie Hymel, Myles Borey, Yasmin Tablas, Claire Spillyards, Sarah Spillyards, Dean Borey, and Kayleigh Borey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and treasured friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to employees of Summer House Ashton Manor in Luling, Louisiana, for their care. The Family’s gratitude is extended to the nurses and employees of Hospice Specialties- especially Melvin- for their care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 4 PM. Visitation will begin at 3PM. Regina will be laid to rest privately.
