Ramesh K. Mirchandani

Ramesh was born on October 3, 1951 in Mumbai, and throughout his life, he was highly respected by all who knew him. In 1982, he founded New York Fashions in New Orleans and served as a renowned fashion connoisseur. He was also an avid air guitarist, foodie, and lover of television, films, and music. Ramesh always enjoyed a good party and would often be found in the middle of the dance floor with a whiskey in hand.

Ramesh is preceded in death by his parents, Kishinchand and Vimla Mirchandani, and his brother-in-law Ramesh “Peepu” Bulchand. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shanta, and his children, Mahesh (wife Nisha), Anita (husband Josh), and Kiran. He is also survived by the Mirchandani, Bulchand, Bharwani, Mirpuri, Babani, and Crosby families as well as many beloved grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to all family, friends, and well-wishers.

Services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124) from 10 am until 12 pm. Overflow will be held outdoors. Masks required. There will also be a Facebook Live option.
