Beloved father of Robert Ronald Kellogg, Susan Kellogg Reese, and Stephen Andrew Kellogg (Robin). Devoted grandfather of Sierra Rose Kellogg, Andrew Franklyn Kellogg, Collyn Michael Kellogg, and Joslyn Belle Kellogg. Son of the late Harold Thomas Kellogg and Althea Neitzschman Sciambra. Survived by brothers Ronald Robert Kellogg and Robert Louis Kellogg. Also survived by niece Melissa Patterson Ramsey, and nephews William Kellogg, Byron Jones, and Robert Patterson. Preceded in death by his wife and his niece Pamela Kellogg Lunn.
Mr. Kellogg was a longtime member of the Terrytown community, a devoted father who dearly loved his family, and will be loved and remembered by all who knew him.
Aged 80 years, he was born in New Orleans and attended Fortier High School. Mr. Kellogg proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, spending time in Japan as a cryptographer during the Korean War.
Mr. Kellogg retired from the Times Picayune/States Item, where he loyally worked for thirty-plus years. He found his passion at Terrytown Playground, where he coached and directed various activities. This love for the recreation department led him to his second career as the Special Programs Supervisor with the JPRD, where he retired in 1999, after developing many treasured friendships that endure this day.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m.
