Philip Warren Howe Jr. passed away on Wednesday, January 26th at the age of 88. Born in St James Parish, to his parents, Philip Warren Howe and Augustine Melancon. He was preceded in death by his wife Murial Pecunia. He will be greatly missed by his beloved nieces and nephews Janice, Jim, Glen and Gary Scioneaux, Colleen Smith, Michel, Russell and Carl Schexanyder and Gail Asprodites. After graduating from St James High School, Philip served in the 309th Medical Battalion in Europe until 1946, returning to New Orleans, he graduated from Loyola University with a degree in accounting. He held the position of Comptroller with the Louisiana Department of Health and later with the New Orleans Levee Board. He served as a past grand knight in the Knights of Columbus and faithfully participated in an annual Manressa Retreat. Family and friends are invited to a visitation Saturday, January 29th beginning 10:00 AM, with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 in the chapel at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans.
