Patsy Pier Ward

Patsy Pier Ward was born in New Orleans, LA on June 28, 1938 and passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at the age of 85. Pasty graduated from East Jefferson High School, Class of 1957. She was a member of Metairie United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and served on the Board of Directors with her late husband, Claude. Patsy was a member of the Pontchartrain Beagle Club and served as the Treasurer for several years. She loved training and caring for her Beagles, and competing in Field Trials.

Patsy was the beloved wife of 25 years to the late Claude Lindsley Ward. Daughter of the late Lawrence Andrew Pier and Virgie Watson Pier. Companion of the late Rodney Abadie. Patsy is survived by her 3 sons, Claude Lindsley Ward, Jr. (Linda), Creighton Pier Ward (Kelly) and James Marvin Ward (Rachelle). Also survived by her brother, Lawrence Andrew Pier, Jr., 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Collin, Kameron, Kaylie, Kendel, Cannen, Nicholas and Noah, and her Great-grandson Karson. Patsy also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to all those who cared for or visited Patsy in her final months.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., in New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by services at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
