I have fond memories of Pat from LSU. We both transferred to Baton Rouge at the same time and hung out  occasionally. He had a room at his grandparent's house, I believe. He would always call me when driving back to New Orleans for non-football weekends to ask if I wanted a ride home. He would come in to say hello to my parents, and play "Malagueña" on the piano-he was a gifted musician! Although I have had no contact with Pat since then, thinking of him always makes me smile.

Pat was sharp as a tack, intellectually curious and fun.  However, I'll best remember him, in health and in illness, as always wanting to know how "you" were doing - a sign of a good man.  Forever a Jesuit Blue Jay.

Pat will be missed by all friends and colleagues who had an opportunity to know and work with him. On the job he was smart, energetic and effective in all that pursued. I knew Pat when we worked together at UPR in the 90s.  He was one of those people who you instantly felt like you had known your whole life.  Very engaging, whip smart and hilarious.  He was always upbeat and positive; someone to learn from and someone who made your day whenever you saw him.  A really great guy.

Mr. Mooney was in the room across the hall from my dad at Lambeth. He was always gracious when I would see him. My thoughts go out to his family at this time of loss.

God loved you so, he ended your pain.

We all loved you dearly and now you can join your dad, Aunt Nita, Aunt Anne, Uncle Bernie and Aunt Lillie, Uncle Arthur, and  Uncle Stevie, Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw,  and all members of our wonderful family.

I worked closely with Pat for several years at Union Pacific Resources. We traveled together on business and spent a lot of time together developing presentations to company investors. Pat is a special person; always upbeat, energetic, very creative, very smart and just an all around good guy to work with and have as a friend. He will be missed!

Patrick, became my boss in 1985, and my dear friend for life. At the age of 24, he and my HWLF co-workers changed the course of my life.  We all worked hard, but we played even harder! Tons of memories of all those amazing times will always make me smile, be it trips to New York or our outtings to the Go-Kart track!  The world truly lost one of the great minds of finance, and a man who was loved by everyone who knew him. My thoughts and prayers to Ms. Jean, Bridget, Erin and Tim. I look forward to seeing everyone soon to celebrate Patrick's life and share our Moon stories.  Rest in Peace my dear friend.  Love you.

Dear Patrick, A flame went out the night you went to heaven. We miss you. We pray for you. You are loved by many. All of us learned something about life from you. You always knew how to "live" life. From running with the bulls, jumping out of planes or snow skiing...take the chance. You put a lot of living in your short life. Please, save me a little space somewhere in heaven for me.

In 1992 I was working for a new employer. Pat told me I had more knowledge about my industry than anyone he knew.
Coming from Pat this meant a lot and helped  give me the confidence to excel in a very difficult environment.

A bunch of miscellaneous memories tumble forth when I think of Pat Mooney. He was a lifeguard at the old LSUNO swimming pool on the East Campus, where I did all my swimming. He and Bill McCarthy double-dated for the Junior-Senior Prom in 1967. His date lived in Harahan, creating a lot of driving to pick up and drop off. His father, who also passed at a relatively young age about 25 years ago, was on the same Manresa retreat group I still am. Pat was an easy-going, friendly guy, which is why I remember all these anecdotes, even though we were never close friends. So long, buddy.

I knew Pat back in 1968, when he was one of my beaus, while at LSUNO.
It's just so sad to have to say goodbye to one who has brought such fond memories.

 I met Pat when we were still in high school. He was responsible for getting my husband, Don,  and I together nearly 47 years ago. I owe him so much gratitude for so many blessings in my life.
