Patricia P. Bourgeois Zamora

Patricia P. Bourgeois Zamora passed away on October 4, 2022 at the age of 96. She was born on June 20, 1926 in New Orleans and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel. She served as the executive secretary of the Jefferson Parish Recreation Dept. working for Mr. Jim Quigley. She was a devout member of S.L.K.F (St. Louis King of France), the Ludovicum Ladies Auxiliary, the Lakeshore Golden Age Club, and the Lakeshore Playground Busy Bees. She was the first honorary female member of the Knights of Columbus Ludovicum Counsel and held office for Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation. She was an avid bowler for many years, an excellent seamstress, a killer scrabble player, and a passionate traveler. She enjoyed senior Olympics and took over 12 cruises.

She is preceded in death by: her husband of 7 years, John J. Zamora Jr.; her husband of 39 years, Lester L. Bourgeois, Jr. her parents, Clarence E. and Clemence B. Pickens; her daughter, Lorraine M. Bourgeois; her son, Daniel D. Bourgeois; her sister, Dorothy P. Mitchell; and her niece, Judith M. Helmer.

She is survived by: her daughter, Lucille “Lou” B. Marchal Oschmann; her son, Raymond “Ray” L. Bourgeois; her grandchildren, Sandi L. Marchal, Erin E. Marchal Cook (Jason), Felicia C. Bourgeois Harper (Ben), Nicolas “Nico” D. Bourgeois, and Armand L. Bourgeois (Sirene); and her great-grandchildren, Sarah D. Ogden, Jason P. Cook, Jr., Jesse J. Cook, Jarrett D. Cook, and Baby Boy Bourgeois (Armand and Sirene) expecting to arrive in January.

The family would like to give special thanks to Inspired Living of Kenner Care Partners, the staff at Fidelis Janice House, and the Hospice Specialist of Louisiana.

Visitation will be held at Monday, October 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until mass begins at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment is to take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Mark Raphael will be officiating.
