Patricia “Pat” Mary Jacob Modica went home to Jesus on Holy Saturday, March 31st, 2018 at the age of 86. She passed peacefully in the home of her youngest daughter, surrounded by loved ones. Pat is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Price (Lloyd), Peggy Culberson (Mark), and Patrice McCoy (Mark); and her grandchildren, Katherine Whitlock (Chris), Conner McCoy, and Jarrod McCoy. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Salvadore Modica; both of her parents, Catherine and Felix Jacob; and her brothers, Felix (Marie), Joseph (Eileen), and Richard (Eunice).
Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Pat spent her life there until Hurricane Katrina forced her to move to Covington. She was a gentle soul who cared deeply for others, a dedicated mother who wanted nothing more than to see her family thrive in happiness, and a devoted grandmother who taught her grandchildren to strive for greatness through the love of Jesus. In addition, she was a talented artist, writer, and a devout Christian who prayed for every soul she encountered in addition to every soul she did not.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124, on Saturday, April 7th from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. Services will follow. Internment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, 120 City Park Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119.
