Patricia Bihli Durel

Patricia Bihli Durel, a retired Cardiac Technician from Ochsner, passed away at the age of 75 on April 8, 2025, at her residence in Abita Springs, LA with her loving family by her side. Patricia (Pat) was born in New Orleans, La. on February 20, 1950, to Charles Joseph Bihli and Mary Elizabeth Zitzmann Bihli. Beloved wife of 55 years to Eric J. Durel. Loving mother of Patricia D. Bratcher (George) and Robin D. Mitchell (Timothy). Sister of Mary Taffaro (Jake) and Kathy Mueller (Darrell). Adoring grandmother of Tyler Bratcher (Tiffany), Hanna Bratcher, Samantha Mitchell (Grant) and Mykenzie Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Bihli; her brother-in-law, John Darrell Mueller and her niece Donna Lynn Taffaro Ranna.

Pat was a member of the VFW Post 8720 Auxiliary. She enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson with her husband, sisters, and brothers-in-law. She did not miss an opportunity to bake her delicious and beautifully decorated cakes whenever a family member or friend asked. She had a passion for dogs and took pride in teaching dog obedience training to other dog owners. Pat loved her grandchildren with all her heart and did not miss any event Tyler, Hanna, Samantha or Mykenzie were involved in whether it be baseball, theatrical plays or cheerleading.

The family would like to give special thanks to Passages Hospice and Home Instead, specifically Tanja Austin for taking great care of our mother for the past 7 months.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Pat’s Life at VFW Post 8720, 21470 Mire Drive, Abita Springs, LA 70420 on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A private interment will be held at a later date in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
