She was born in New Orleans on November 29th 1954, resided in Metairie for many years and was a resident of Chalmette for the past 30 yrs.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic church in Chalmette.
She had a deep devotion to the Rosary and prayed it often.
In 1958 Nona was the poster child for the Cerebral Palsy Clinic in New Orleans, a United Fund Agency. As a young woman she enjoyed square dancing. She was a member of a square dance club where she met her husband, Toby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson E. Daigle and June Williams Daigle, as well as her brother, Wilson E. Daigle Jr. and her Brothers in Law Sidney Seiler Jr ,and Richard McCloskey.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Toby J. Russo Jr., her sister, Cathy Daigle Kimball (Richard), her Mother and Father in Law, Toby and Patricia Russo, her Sisters in Law Barbara Daigle, Patricia Mc Closkey, Mary Barker (John), Cathy Seiler,Geri Russo, and Jackie Cassara(Richard),her Godchildren Richard Kimball ,Jr. and Clare Daigle Allen and her nieces and nephews: Nicole Guttierrz, Jessica Boltman(Cord), Bryan Daigle(Jennifer),Clare Allen(Greg),Richard Kimball Jr. (Gretchen), Courtney Jacobs(Scott),Autumn Vicknair (Derek), Travis Kimball (Melissa), Richard McCloskey Jr.(Ashley), David Barker(Amanda), Jennifer Hatty(Jack),Joseph Barker, Adam Cassara, Daniel Seiler(Emily), and Matthew Cassara.
She is also survived by many cousins and friends,
She will be greatly missed by all.
Nona was very proud of the fact that she was born 8 minutes after her cousin Kirk Bienvenu on the same day, often referring to him as her (twin cousin).
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Ochsner Hospital Main Campus Cardiac ICU and especially to nurse Kayla Gonzales.
Services will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, July 29th.
Visitation will start at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass at 12:00PM.
